FUTURMODA, the leading international trade fair for leather, components and machinery for footwear and leather goods, celebrates its 51st edition on 13 and 14 March in Pavilion 2 of IFA-Fira Alacant. The fair will bring together 230 exhibitors and 326 firms represented in an exhibition area of 12,500 square metres.
With an exhibition offer of 70% national and 30% international, FUTURMODA has established itself as an indispensable meeting point for industry professionals from all over Europe, North Africa, South America and beyond, including Germany, Algeria, Argentina, and Turkey, among others. This edition promises to maintain the level of professional visitors of previous years, thanks to significant collaborative efforts, such as the support of IVACE International, which has extended the promotion of the fair to key markets through its offices in Poland, Vietnam, France, the UK and Germany.
Sustainability and eco-design are undisputed protagonists at this edition, with 30% of the exhibiting companies taking part in the Futurmoda Green Planet space, presenting innovative and environmentally responsible solutions. The exhibition offering stands out for its diversity, including hides and skins, components, textiles, machinery, and more, giving visitors an exclusive preview of the trends for the Spring-Summer 2025 season.
Carbon footprint calculation at FUTURMODA
As a first, the organisation is launching the FUTURMODA carbon footprint calculation project. The aim is to become the first international trade fair to comply with environmental standards, ensuring that by the year 2024-25 FUTURMODA will generate a CO2 load of 0 emissions.
The press conference was attended by the Councillor for Economic Promotion of Elche City Council, Samuel Ruiz; the President of AEC, Manolo Román; the President of FUTURMODA, José Antonio Ibarra and the Director of AEC, Álvaro Sánchez.
The official inauguration will take place on 13 March at 12:00 noon, with the prominent presence of Cristina Moreno, Regional Secretary for Tourism of the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism, reaffirming the importance of this event in the sector’s calendar.
FUTURMODA thus consolidates its position as a key event for the footwear industry, offering a unique platform for innovation, sustainability and international business. All professionals in the sector are invited to participate in this edition, which promises to be one of the most outstanding to date.
